Dr. Swoosh stammt aus einer Familie von Erzschürfern. Als er noch klein war, starb seine geliebte Tante bei einem Mienenunglück. Jede Hilfe kam zu spät. Er beschloss, dass man gegen solches Unrecht etwas unternehmen muss und machte eine Ausbildung zum Sanitäter. Er arbeitete als Minensanitäter und rettete viele Arbeiter. Sein Hundeblick machte es ihm anfangs schwer sich unter seinen Kollegen Respekt zu verdienen. Doch auf panische Patienten wirkte er meistens beruhigend. Mit seinem Hoverboard war er immer besonderst schnell an der Unfallstelle. Das brachte ihm den Spitznamen "Dr. Swoosh" ein. Die Bereitschaft zwischen den Einsätzen verbrachte er oft mit der Crew vom Sicherheitsdienst am Schießstand. Als die Mine aufgrund von unwirtschaftlichkeit geschlossen wurde, verlor auch er seinen Job. Er hat ein High-G Training durchlaufen, um auf Schiffen arbeiten zu können und heuerte auf dem Eisfrachter Scratch an.

She’s the first one to run into a burning building, usually agrees to hunt monsters for little or no pay, and is generally a pushover for a sob story.
